Associate Director, Partnerships and Investment
Pepita works at a strategic level with the education, arts and cultural sectors in the West Midlands to improve arts provision and develop the next generation of arts education leaders. She manages Arts Connect’s Partnership Investment scheme and also forges cultural education partnerships, bringing organisations together to work cohesively in improving the overall quality of arts education in each locality.

Pepita is a highly experienced arts education expert. She started her career as a primary teacher in Sandwell before becoming Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre’s first Education Liaison Officer. During the 1990s she was appointmed Head of Arts Education for Birmingham and embedded a programme of arts education provision across the city. She later moved to be Assistant Principal of a 14-19 Specialist Academy before leaving to devote time to foster parenting.

Pepita is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people, and believes that arts and cultural education is critical to the development of a well-rounded, functioning society. Outside of the office you’ll probably find her with a book in her hand; she can get through three novels in a fortnight.
