This free online session will be an introduction to Artsmark Award for arts teachers and arts leads working in educational settings across the Black Country and West Midlands. Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. The session will be led by Helen Frost the regional Senior Artsmark Programme Manager
Through achieving Artsmark status education settings can:
Build young people’s confidence, character and resilience through arts and cultural education
Use Artsmark’s clear and flexible framework to embed creativity across whole school curriculum and address school improvement priorities
Celebrate a long-term commitment to cultural education with pupils, parents and local communities.
The session will include:
Introduction to Artsmark Award: how it is achieved, how it can be embedded within education settings and the benefits of working towards and achieving Artsmark Award status
How working with local arts and cultural organisations and engaging with British Art Show 9 and other upcoming local arts events could support your Artsmark Award journey
Opportunities to meet creative educators, and cultural organisations including Wolverhampton Cultural Education Partnership, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, University of Wolverhampton and Arts Connect
