In response to the artwork of the same title this creative workshop focuses on how you can use colour and shape to depict the theme of migration and promote wellbeing through visual expression and communication. These techniques can then be taken back to your classroom be used in conjunction with the ‘Things We Carry’ teaching resource.
We will explore:
- Oil pastel image tracing
- Colour mixing
- Collagraph texture printing
- Playdough printing
Amara Antoinette
Amara is a Black, British Jamaican, Artist Educator born and raised in Birmingham, UK.
Her work explores socio political themes through poetry and illustration. A trained Art Therapist, she also promotes emotional and social wellbeing for children and young people through experimental and exploratory art making.
