Sharing our Insights and Understanding of Young People Today and their Varied Journeys to Engagement in Arts and Culture
Calling all artists, arts organisations, museums, heritage sites, librarians, musicians, Music Hubs, archivists, film makers, science and arts specialists, researchers, activists, teachers and youth workers. If you work with children and young people in the arts and cultural sector this event is for you!
Arts Connect will share the key findings and insights from a ground breaking piece of research undertaken by Morris Hargreaves McIntyre, the largest cultural strategy agency in the UK and arts organisation We Are Frilly who are specialists in developing and delivering high quality participatory arts practice.

The research provides:
- Deep and wide-ranging knowledge of young people and their lives, illustrating the extent and range of their current engagement in culture
- Understanding of the decision influencers and decision making processes and key trigger points for engagement including the influence of families, schools, arts and cultural organisations and any significant others
- The perceptions of, attitudes towards and motivations for engaging in culture and investigating the barriers to engagement and how these might be overcome
