Woman seated at a table in animated conversation with another woman who has her back to us

How to have a conversation about a difficult subject well, a starting point for arts and culture professionals to be bold and provocative in telling unsafe stories.

Date: 23 May

Time: 10.30am to 1pm

Venue: Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham

Difficult stories such as physical and sexual abuse, war, poverty, slavery, illness, discrimination and death are present throughout our museums, galleries, heritage sites and arts projects.

We are a group of heritage education leaders in the West Midlands who will be sharing our research into how to teach challenging and difficult subjects to children and young people in galleries, museums, heritage sites and as part of arts projects.

Join us on 23rd May at Midlands Arts Centre, to hear about the research and have an opportunity to discuss the findings with colleagues from across the cultural sector.
