Are you a Secondary or Further Education art teacher or art lead working in Telford or the Black Country? Would you like to be part of a network of art teachers, taking inspiration from local contemporary visual art exhibitions and working with artists to enhance their professional learning and curriculum development?

We have the opportunity for 8 art teachers to work with us to grow their understanding of contemporary art practices, discover new artists and art techniques, learn new skills and build confidence to create inclusive and diverse art curriculum. Through the programme teachers will design and trial activities and resources with students and share learning and outcomes with a network of like-minded colleagues. The Contemporary Art in the Classroom Art Teacher CPD Programme is fully funded by Arts Connect through Art Council England funds with a value of £760 per teacher.

The inspiration for our first Contemporary Art in the Classroom Art Teacher CPD Programme of the new year is The World that Belongs to Us visual art exhibition showing at The New Art Gallery Walsall until June 2024. You can find more details of the exhibition on their website here.

• Attend and contribute to all programme sessions.
• Design and run in-school activities and/or develop resources inspired by The World that Belongs to Us exhibition.
