Free Primary and Secondary Teacher CPD sessions: Contemporary Sculpture in the Classroom

Date: Wednesday 7th December

Location: The New Art Gallery Walsall

Primary Teacher Session: 10am-12pm

Secondary Teacher Session: 12.30-2.30pm

Explore the Gallery’s new major contemporary sculpture exhibition Breaking the Mould: Sculpture by Women since 1945 with Alex Jolly, Learning and Engagement Manager. Focus on a selection of key works and watch demos from an artist educator on practical activities, including clay modelling, plaster casting, junk sculpture and wire modelling. Teachers will have the opportunity to get hands on, have a go and explore all four activities. We aim to arm teachers with the tools, knowledge and confidence to talk about sculpture and make sculptures with their students back at school. Refreshments provided.
