We Are Here For You

These are unprecedented and difficult times for our families, our friends, our communities and for the key sectors that we work with and champion.

We want to wish you personally all the very best over the coming months. We also just wanted to let the arts and cultural and education communities in the West Midlands know what Arts Connect will be doing over the weeks ahead to support and help you.

The well-being of our staff is paramount, so we have followed government advice and the Arts Connect team are now working from home for the foreseeable. This is a fluid situation and will be reviewed by us as it unfolds. You can still talk to us via email, telephone and hold virtual meetings with us using Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom. Currently the team are working their normal office hours but if schools do close, some of the team are likely to be working more flexibly, so please bear with us.

Whilst some events, activities and programmes have been postponed we are actively working on creative and agile ways to continue to offer you support.

We will carry on sharing any relevant information with you and we will continue to update our social media channels and our website. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

We are here to listen, to offer advice, to provide a calm space for our sector and to keep the light of our framing vision – enabling children and young people to enjoy a rich and meaningful arts and cultural life – burning brightly.

We can get through this by keeping in touch, by working kindly, creatively and dynamically – by connecting.

By connecting through the arts, culture and education we will find our way through and we felt that this quote from our Comms Manager’s, favourite book – Howard’s End, was appropriate for the circumstances:

Only connect! That was the whole of her sermon. Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted, and human love will be seen at its height. Live in fragments no longer. Only connect, and the beast and the monk, robbed of the isolation that is life to either, will die.EM Forster
