We are very excited to announce the celebrative culmination of our Dance Connect 2020 collaborative dance and digital project Saturday 5 September / 1-6pm.
Join us on a variety of social media platforms for #DanceConnect20 that include premiere screenings of work created through lockdown.
#DanceConnect20 is a dance and digital experiment exploring how we can collaborate remotely across borders and boundaries, using movement and phones. 11 professional dance leaders worked with 4 young leaders, 2 digital artists and over 60 young people from their homes to exchange dance styles and ideas, before inviting wider participation through a series of creative challenges.

TAKEOVER TIMETABLE
1pm/ SHORT FILMS / Enjoy a selection of films as part of the #DanceConnect20 process. Films will be uploaded to the DX You Tube channel (catch up with the already released films now)
1.30pm / DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE / Join Orit Azaz for the World Premiere of The #DanceConnect20 Story, a brand-new documentary by film-maker and digital artist Wayne Stables. Film will premiered on the DX Facebook page.
2-3.30pm / FREE MOVEMENT JAM WORKSHOP / Join amazing dance leaders from across the West Midlands as they lead you through a unique collision of dance styles and practices hosted by our friends at Cultural Central.
Each dance leader will lead a 15-minute taster class in their dance vocabulary and share their experiences of working alongside young people to explore new fusion possibilities as part of #DanceConnect creative research. Join in all of them or pick and choose from your favourite styles.
