Early years: Creativity and art in the Natural World

Date: Wednesday 14th July 2021

Time: 1.10 arrival to 3.30pm

Venue: Compton Verney Art Gallery & Park – Compton Verney, Warwickshire CV35 9HZ

This is an exciting opportunity to actually meet together and explore creativity and art in a wonderful space, have an outdoor picnic, and talk about early years and the natural world.

As well as all this Compton Verney is hosting an exhibition of artist Rebecca Louise Law’s work.  She is known for creating immersive works using natural materials.  She often works with preserved flowers to create environments that viewers can walk amongst, enjoying the beauty, the individual form, colour and texture of each flower.  Her work poses questions about symbolism, sustainability and, life cycles.

The Moonbeams Social Meet will begin with the opportunity to visit this exhibition with time to explore together your responses to the exhibition along with informal discussions around themes of young children’s creativity and art in the natural world. We can wonder together on how creativity and making art of all kinds, reveal children’s relationships with nature and how children interact with natural materials.  It will be an opportunity to meet others, share ideas and resources in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with picnic refreshments and all FREE!

The event will comply with National Covid guidelines applicable at the time (we will share with you the Event Risk assessment on booking).

There will be 20 places available on a first-come-first-served-basis. This event is free to all but please book your place in advance
