Want to use your ideas, connections and project skills to support change for young people? Want to help us bring greater support for young people to access careers guidance, progression opportunities and other activities that support routes into employment in the cultural and creative sector? Can you bring your relationships skills, knowledge and planning skills to influence the cultural and education sectors to extend opportunities across the West Midlands?
If so then Arts Connect would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone with skills and a track record in working with young people to develop their creative talents and interests (such as career and progression guidance, talent and skills development and work based learning) and are keen to work at a system as well as practical level. This is a new post so you’ll be excited by the chance to establish and define the role, working as a key part of our friendly team.
We work across the West Midlands, connecting and supporting communities and enabling children and young people (from 0-25) to enjoy a rich and meaningful arts and cultural life.
As our Programme Manager: Creative Careers, Employability and Progression we want you to hit the ground running, using your skills, experience and creativity to lead on bringing our new careers strategy to life. We want to see a greater diversity of young people gaining employment in the cultural and creative industries as a result of fairer and supportive system, particularly for those who are underrepresented in the creative and cultural industries.
We especially want you to develop a programme plan and make industry connections in the first few months while running some programme and activity for young people. You will work across the Arts Connect programme and collaborate with team members in promoting and championing the careers agenda. This includes: developing a creative careers, progression and employability strategy.
