Crafts Council, Hobbycraft and regional partners across England, of which Arts Connect are one, have teamed up to launch Let’s Craft – an appeal to place 20,000 craft packs into the hands of children who don’t have access to art and craft supplies at home.
Making with our hands is life-affirming and helps our mental health. For children, it also builds cognitive skills, hand-eye coordination, self-confidence and the ability to express themselves.
Creativity can feel a low priority during a cost-of-living crisis that has driven millions of families into poverty, but it can provide children with hours of happiness and escape through their own brilliant imaginations and inherent creativity.
Everyone should have access to basic materials and with a donation of just £10 you can help unlock a child’s creative potential. With your help, Let’s Craft packs will be distributed throughout the country containing over 1000 pieces of kit to keep kids making over the school holidays.
