CALL FOR ARTISTS/ARTS ORGANISATIONS

Project Brief:
Visual Art: Including sculpture and photography highlighting the importance of British and Catholic Values.

We are looking for artist/s or an arts organisation to work with John Henry Newman Catholic College (JHNCC) – a secondary school in East Birmingham – and its network of five Catholic Primary Schools in Birmingham and Solihull, to deliver a programme of high-quality arts experiences based around the British Values and Catholic Virtues, leading towards a sharing and celebration event on 7 July 2018.

We are particularly interested in artists/organisations with expertise in producing high quality work in genres of visual art, such as sculpture, photography and film, although other art forms will be considered. The commission will involve one/two classes in each school taking the lead, predominantly Key Stage 2, but encompassing a whole school involvement and vision across the secondary school, total age range of 7-16 years.

Timescale and Details:

Fee: The fee is £23,000, inclusive of travel and VAT

Application Deadline: 24 November 2017 (no later than 12.00 noon)
Notification of Interviews: no later than 29th November 2017
Interviews: 4 December 2017 at John Henry Newman College, Solihull; please pencil the date in your diary. The interviews will include an adult panel plus a workshop with young people from the network’s schools.
