Date: Tuesday 22nd November, 2022

Time: 10am -12pm

Venue: Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham

Arts Connect’s Thrive sharing events are designed to inspire and inform members of the creative and cultural sector in the West Midlands. The sharing event will explore a number of areas from mental health, barriers to engagement and creative technology.

Each Thrive R&D bursary recipient will share their research and development Journey encapsulating and disseminating the learning from the Thrive R&D programme.

Discover the latest research and findings on the barriers children and young people encounter when accessing and engaging in arts and culture, explore the use of digital concepts used in work for children and young people and see how this can be combined with physical delivery and connect with like-minded creative and cultural participation & engagement professionals!

Thrive recipients will be sharing their research on their projects which include:

– “BAME groups take part and engage with arts in significantly lower numbers therefore, what prevents BAME young people from taking part in film & culture and what can be done to assist this engagement?”

“Can a new application of traditional arts and crafts have a genuine and positive impact on the mental health of young adults and whether the use of random acts of kindness/ benevolence can be instrumental in levels of engagement.”

– “How can we use projection mapping technology in our education and performance work to create interactive digital environments that allow genuine creative responses from the participants and audiences we work with?”
