Vision – A world-class cultural education for every child and young person in the city
Aims
• Support and inform the ongoing development of a challenging and inspiring programme of cultural activity by involving young people as co-creators
• Advocate for arts and culture to be embedded within the school curriculum in addition to formal learning
• Embrace diversity, raise aspirations, and create greater equality of access to culture and talent pathways and programmes such as placements or apprenticeships
• Champion the arts and the benefits of a creative education among local and national decision-makers
• Provide a strategic view of what cultural education initiatives are needed in the city in order to increase engagement of children and young people with the cultural sector or increase or develop talent pipelines
Functions
• Assist actively with the development and design of a suite of cultural education projects
• Advise and influence stakeholders on current education and cultural policy and practice
• Drive a joined-up art and cultural offer locally, to share resources and bring about a more coherent and visible delivery of cultural activity
• Develop an inclusive digital strategy that supports and promotes opportunities for young people to engage online and remotely
• Create and support evaluation / feedback mechanisms that lead to a process of positive evolution of the CEP
• Oversee fundraising and budget allocation from CEP initiatives
